CSP has partnered with a local Community Bank that is looking for a Business Development Office. The Business Development Officer will leverage comprehensive knowledge of the organization’s products, services, and lending policies while delivering exceptional customer service. This role is responsible for maintaining and strengthening existing client relationships and developing new business opportunities, including loans, deposits, and other financial services. A strong community orientation and commitment to volunteerism are essential, reflecting core values that guide our approach to banking and our dedication to customers, the community, and ethical practices.
Responsibilities
• Conduct regular outreach to potential and existing customers and centers of influence to develop new business and maintain existing relationships. Maintain a prospect list of potential customers and referral sources.
• Assess current and future customer needs to enhance relationships.
• Deliver a superior level of customer service and support.
• Refer opportunities to other areas of the organization, including mortgage, consumer, and retail banking.
• Make loan decisions within established lending authority.
• Develop and evaluate commercial loans, including commercial real estate (owner-occupied and investment) and C&I loans (term loans and lines of credit), with a focus on prudent underwriting and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Formal credit underwriting training preferred.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and commercial lending practices.
• Minimum of five years of experience in commercial lending (including CRE and C&I) and business development.
